diaperCHECK: the system for checking diapers and sanitary napkins

The Machine Vision System diaperCHECK was specially designed by Vision Device for the inspection of diapers and sanitary napkins. The solution detects the presence and position of all product features, determining a quality assessment based on the inspection results and the parameters set by the operator.

The software is built 'dynamically' and the considerable hardware capabilities allow for accurate and timely feedback on the production process and perform actions in real time.

How does the doapers and sanitary napkin check work with diaperCHECK?

To carry out diapers and absorbent inspection, diaperCHECK can be supplied with its own cabinet but can also be easily integrated into the machine's control panels. The standard configuration includes a single 'reading head', usually positioned at the end of the line. It is also possible to request two or more reading heads to inspect the product at several points of the machine. The acquisitions can be completely independent and asynchronous.

The solution is based on the use of a linear camera, a special camera that scans one row of pixels at a time, just like a scanner. Unlike a scanner, however, the scan always takes place at the same point with the product moving underneath it.

For this reason, it is particularly suitable for capturing objects in translational motion, ensuring image uniformity and contrast and gaining a lot of space on the camera.

From an application point of view, there are no substantial differences compared to acquisition using conventional cameras. Once acquired, the image is processed exactly as if it had been acquired with a matrix camera.

Depending on the control requirements, the lighting of the industrial control system can be by reflection and by transmission.
