For a multinational company in the plumbing and heating sector, Visione Device has developed a state-of-the-art machine vision system for the automatic in-line control of the forming and sealing of polypropylene drain pipes.

Unlike traditional OEM solutions, we offer a complete system with customisation, customised lighting, installation at your premises, set-up and training services for your operators.

Our system is able to control and communicate the following key features to the line PLC in real time:

  • Seal presence
  • Seal positioning
  • Presence of tumbler moulding
  • Quality of tumbler moulding

The software is highly flexible and expandable to meet your future inspection needs.
The latest generation of cameras with Gigabit Ethernet standard and PoE power supply from the industrial computer guarantee a high level of performance.

System Accessories for Quality Control of the Pipe Production

The accessories (optics, illuminators, cables) were selected during the design phase, following a preliminary study carried out in our laboratories on a preliminary customer sample.

The vision system is based on fanless industrial PCs; the processing software we have developed and proposed, called LinceoONE, is able to optimally utilise modern multi-core processors, parallelising operations; the reliable and stable 'embedded' operating system allows a high level of security against cyber attacks and is not subject to system updates.

The digital I/Os, fully configurable via Modbus TCP connection, are interfaced directly to the line PLC.

 

Compatibility of the tube production quality control system with Industry 4.0

The machine vision system stores all read-outs, LOGs of operations and images of defects to ensure full compatibility with Industry 4.0 specifications.

The LinceoONE software can automatically align the control areas for each type of product, guaranteeing constant precision during production. Adjustment of parameters and operating characteristics is done interactively with an immediate visualisation of the effects of changes, facilitating understanding of machine operation.

Each system control is bound by an index of possibilities, ensuring safe and confidential use. In addition, the system is equipped with remote connection software, and we offer free remote assistance during the warranty period to resolve any malfunctions.

Once the installation is complete, we provide customised training sessions. These sessions are used to introduce the basic concepts of Machine Vision and to optimally configure the system for your specific product types.
